This might sound amazingly confusing, but not knowing what to blog about can be a wonderful thing. I know there have been countless times when you haven’t been able to think about a single thing to write about. You sit there with writer’s block, scrambling your brain, wondering what you’re doing wrong. You think, “There’s nothing else to write.” or “Maybe I’m no good at this.” Guess what? You’re probably still blogging. You’ve probably blogged time and time again after that.
You might be asking why I say not knowing what to blog about is a good thing. Well here are 5 reasons why that bloggers block might be good for you.
It Forces You To Take A New Approach
If you’ve been blogging in a specific manner, not being able to stick to that method forces you to find a new angle. New angles can help you find new sources of revenue and helps you become a better writer.
It Forces You To Learn More About Your Niche
This statement speaks volumes about itself. Learning more about your niche makes you more of an authority on it. The more you know the more you can share. The more you share, the more readers you attract.
It Gives You A Break
Taking a break from writing is important. Of course you would love to work on your blog more, but be honest, you need time off as much as you would a normal job or career.
It Gives Your Blog More Life
To revisit the learning about your niche point, think about how excited you were when you first began learning about it (assuming it’s something you enjoy). That excitement is probably what fueled you to begin writing in the first place. If you learn something new and exciting, the feelings will be passed on in your writings.
It Gives You Time To Interact With Readers
Maybe you’re so tied up with blogging that you aren’t getting around to responding to your readers. Maybe these readers are the ones who are asking questions, for which the answers can be turned into new blog articles.
