As blog and website owners, everyday we’re checking our earnings and trying to earn even more the next day. Maybe you’re displaying banner ads, maybe you’re doing some affiliate marketing.
The traditional methods of earning still work, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t supplement your income with new and innovative methods.
Take a look at these new ways to monetize your website. Some might be right for you, some might not be something you want for your website. I only ask that you keep an open mind.
Don’t be afraid to try something new. You might just make some money.
The advertising network Exit Junction serves ads users that bounce from your website. Not those annoying popups asking whether or not you’re sure you want to leave either. Exit Junction estimates that 41% of all traffic bounces. When they do so through the use of the back button, they show them a page of advertisements. Simple and effective.
Outbound Link Advertising
There’s an advertising network called Outbound that displays ads for your outbound links. Plain and simple, they provide a short interstitial whenever a visitor clicks a link on your website that takes them to another site. This interstitial contains an advertisement as well as a notice that they are leaving your website and going to another. Again, simple and effective.
Charge For Content
Is the information on your blog or website good enough that people will actually pay money upfront to read it? If so, Cleeng could be for you. They offer different packages, but the most basic is free. The idea is to provide visitors with enough to bait them in and want more, but then charge them to see the content. The only problem with this is that the content must be worth purchasing. Since most information on the internet is readily available for free, this might be a difficult sell.
