Get Paid To Give Away Free Stuff

Why would anyone pay you to give away anything for free? I know this probably sounds like something made up or some type of scam, but I guarantee you it isn’t.

Before we begin, let me give you a scenario that you may be familiar with. You’re walking through the mall, passing through the food court. A new restaurant offers you a free sample, you eat it and keep on your way. Why on earth would they give you free food? It’s ok with them, they also give away free samples to 19 other passersby. Now the restaurant knows that if they give free samples to 20 people, 1 or 2 of them will actually buy a meal. Now it begins to make sense right?

Let’s say the samples cost the restaurant $0.25 each and the average price of a meal is about $6.00. So 20 samples costs $5.00 and for every 20 samples they make between $6.00 and $12.00 dollars if only the average is spent. They also know that every customer is potentially a word of mouth advertiser and a return customer. So in turn that $5.00 investment in free samples could have potentially turned into hundreds of dollars of business.

Now how about we get to the point. How can we get paid to do the same thing? Affiliate marketing! I know affiliate marketing scares some of you, but this is a wonderful way to ease into it. Some of us have the hardest time making affiliate sales, but believe me it isn’t as difficult as you maybe believe. Giving away these things for free should prove even easier.

Where To Start?

Well I strongly recommend you read the article linked to above about making affiliate sales to begin with. Now, first things first. You will need a website or blog for this. You can get a free blog from Blogger or Tumblr if you don’t want to pay for a blog. If you do decide to buy your own website with your own domain check out our Webmaster Deals. You can get your own website online for as little as $3.00 a month for hosting (possibly cheaper if you catch a good deal). Domain name prices are always changing, but you should be able to get a domain for about $6.00 a year or less. Also note that you can use a domain with a free blog (having your own dot com makes you look more reputable).

Where’s The Free Stuff?

This is where the footwork comes in. After you have chosen your website to begin your affiliate marketing, you’re going to have to choose your affiliate marketing method. You can go through networks like  Commission JunctionCPAWay, or ShareASale. Or you can find companies that you know have their own in house affiliate programs. You’re going to have to find companies that are offering free products in your niche. You can however create a blog dedicated to any kind of freebie. By doing this you can offer a multitude of free products and services and maximize your potential revenue.

How Much Can I Make?

That is up to you and the products you choose. Some products may pay $0.05 a lead/sale, while others may pay $10.00. Your revenue is directly related to how well you promote the free products and how much they are worth. Keep in mind that the higher paying products are usually harder to sell as well. You may make 20 leads that are worth $0.10, before you make a single lead that is worth $1.00.

What To Watch Out For

Watch out for products that will possibly make users upset with you. Some products may just be free trials that come back to bite them later. For example, some free trials require credit card details. With these trials the customers aren’t charged right away, but a month or so later. These charges can become quite costly. While it is the customer’s fault for not canceling in time, they will still be upset with you for referring them.

Also watch out for hard to move products. If you’re only going for the high paying products, you might not make any sales, or the sales you will make might be few and far in between. This can be very discouraging and cause you to lost faith. Very bad for morale.

And of course there are scams. If you find websites offering you commission programs that charge you to join, I would avoid them. This does not mean that all are scams, but most are.
