Getting money from strangers? Ever considered being a panhandler? I doubt it, but maybe you have.
Believe it or not you can be a cyber-panhandler and get money from strangers on the internet for pretty much anything.
Which Site Is For Me?
While both sites allow you to earn money for anything, they both don’t exactly share the same visions per se.
While Fundly.com does allow you to raise money for virtually anything, the mood is a bit more serious and the funds on this site are generally raised for legitimate causes like charities and paying for someone’s medical expenses.
Sponger.me on the other hand is for absolutely anything. You can ask for someone to fund anything. People are asking for new computers and all sorts of things. It’s all about how well you can convince funders to pay up.
How To Get Money From Strangers Successfully
My guess is that you may think one of two things:
- No one will ever give me money!
- If my cause sounds good of course people will donate!
The thing is, both of these are absolutely wrong. Yes people will give you money and it doesn’t matter how good your cause sounds, people are naturally untrusting.
You’re going to need to sell yourself and your cause and rather well at that.
You need to give people a face they can trust. This may mean having a friend, child, or sibling be the face of your campaign.
Try to keep your grammar somewhat international and friendly. This means cut back on the slang and cliché sayings.
KickStarter is another option that I mentioned, but it is usually on a larger scale. Most KickStarter projects lead to a product being created that creates revenue.
You can also go with freelancing to get money from strangers using platforms like Fiverr.
And if you’re absolutely sure you’re into online panhandling head over to BegsList.
