Today I want to bring you what I call the ABC’s of Blogging.
Some of this you may already do, some you may not.
Either way, I feel that if these things are incorporated into your blogs they will help a great deal with your success.
[A]void – You have to learn to avoid listening to what other bloggers are doing. If you set your standards at their level you will probably always be disappointed. Be happy with your dollar a day blog.
[B]acklinks – Backlink building is very important. If other sites link to your it makes you appear much more reputable in your niche.
[C]ontent – Content is king! Yay, that makes 78 times I’ve said that in a blog article. It probably makes 7,800 times you’ve read it. It’s true though you know. Strong and consistent content will get you far.
[D]etermination – No one can stop you but you. Be determined enough to keep at it. Even when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
[E]ngage – Engage your readers. If you get a comment, respond. Readers feel more comfortable in a community.
[F]reebies – Everyone loves freebies. Offer something to your readers for free, like eBooks, videos, or coupons.
[G]ravity – What goes up, must come down. The same can be said for search engine rankings. You aren’t going to rank a the top forever. Don’t let this discourage you, there may be more relevant information that you aren’t sharing. Get to work.
[H]ard Work – Nobody said blogging was going to be easy. Although it may come a bit more natural to some, every one has those days when they have to push.
[I]nfiltrate – Oh yes, infiltrate the other blogs. Get in there and comment and guest post. Do whatever it takes to complete the mission.
[J]oke – Add a bit of humor into your posts. It will lighten the mood and help readers connect with you.
[K].I.S.S – Keep It Simple Stupid. One of my favorite sayings. Keep everything as simple as possible. It’s not rocket science, unless you are in fact blogging about rocket science…then proceed.
[L]ife – Just like joking, connecting your blog posts with real life events helps readers know and connect with you.
[M]oney – Yes the M is for money. Money is the root of all evil. While it is usually the goal, don’t let the pursuit for it ruin your blog.
[N]epotism – Hate it in the work place, love it in the blogosphere. Promote within your family. If you have multiple blogs, find a way to tie them into each other and link articles.
[O]rganize – Have your blog organized, what good is a blog that no one can navigate.
[P]romote – Promote when ever possible. Don’t spam, but get your name out there. You’ve worked hard to build your blog, people need to see it.
[Q]uestions – Ask your audience questions. Probably the same questions you had to ask others yourself.
[R]evisit – Revisit your old articles in your new posts. Bring them back from the dead for more traffic.
[S]EO – Search Engine Optimization. I don’t even know what more to say. Work on it.
[T]rial And Error – Try new things, if they don’t work try other new things. You might just find a winning combination.
[U]nderstand – Please understand your topic before you write about it. Nothings worse than wrong information.
[V]isuals – Every one likes pretty visuals, especially infographics and videos. You may also want to try adding images to your posts.
[W]hy – Know why you are blogging. Is it for fun? Money? Fame?
[X]Ray Vision – You’ll need it to see through all of the fake claims and promises of fool proof ways to get 1 million unique visitors by tomorrow. Hard work and dedication.
[Y]esterday – Every yesterday is as important as the last. Look at what you did yesterday compared to the prior, did you do better? Worse? Figure out what changed and why.
[Z]zz – Yes catch some Z’s you cant work 24/7. Rest up and start again tomorrow.
There you have it. Dollar Dojo’s ABC’s of blogging. I hope they can help contribute to your success as a blogger. We’re all one big community and should love to see other’s succeed.
Side Note: How many of you actually checked to see if I included every letter? Just curious.
